We got a later start than we planned but we still made it to Cheyenne today. We saw lots of antelope( all alive thank goodness). The girls also thought the wind turbines in Wyoming were cool.
We only played the ABC game once. It lasted from the Colorado border until Craig(90 miles) There was nothing on some of those roads. Kurt tried to cheat when he couldn't find F. He tried calling the "ph" on the mph sign. He said it makes a /f/ sound. Cheaters never prosper so it was no surprise when he lost.
We almost didn't make it to Cheyenne. They closed the road between Laramie and Cheyenne due to hail and 6 inches of snow. Thankfully it was over by the time we got there.
The most exciting thing that happen today was a missed phone call from our Congressman's aide. They may be able to have us tour the White House when we are in D.C. She left me a message so it isn't finalized yet but we are hoping. The girls were really excited about the possibility.
We went swimming after dinner and now we are crashing. The agenda for tomorrow is church, and then on to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore.

I hope you get to tour the white house. That is so cool! Sounds like you are off to a great start. Keep us informed. I am living my summer trip through you :)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of you guys! I love road trips, so do our kids, although we've never done a cross country one. I am glad you are blogging it for us all!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you got off safely and are on your way. Continue to have fun!
ReplyDeleteBetter late, than never! Drive safe, and be on the defensive with the others on the road. Sometimes it the other drivers you need to worry about.
ReplyDeleteOf course the ABC Game has to be played on a road trip, especially when teachers are in the car.
